Mother India has produced many great personalities over the centuries. In modern times, it has produced a sparkling gem in the holy land of Vrindavan, which is known as H.H. Dr. Manoj Mohan Shastri.

From a very young age, he has created an indelible impression among the renowned interpreters of Indian religion by his immense knowledge and an in-depth study of Indian religion, philosophy, culture and Hindu religious teachings of the most revered “Shrimad Bhagwat”. Born to one of the greatest propagators of Bhagwat and famously known as “Bhagwat-bhushan” Shri Shrinathji Shastri, he has earned international fame in a very short time. His extra ordinary talent is amply reflected in his attractive personality.

Since childhood, acknowledged as the blessed son of Maa Saraswati, Dr. Shastri, has been blessed by many great Indian religious personalities like Jagadguru-Nimbakaracharya Shri Shreejee Maharaj of Nimbark Tirth (Salemabad), Revered Maa Anandmoyee, Shri Hari Babaji Maharaj, Pandit Gayaprasadji maharaj of Govardhan, Saraswati, Shri Swami Vidyanand ji, Shri Swami Vaamdev ji Maharaj of Vrindavan, Shri Swami Vishnu Ashram ji Maharaj of Viharghaat, Shri Geetanand ji Maharaj of Haridwar, Shri Guru Sharananand ji of Mathura, Pujya Shri Sadhubaba Ji of Kharagpur and above all Param pujya Shri Swami Akhandanand ji.

Under the able guidance of his father, Dr. Shastri has studied and gained deep and profound knowledge of the Vedas, Puranas, Upnishads and many Shastras, apart from Shrimad Bhagwat and has duly earned highly regarded titles like “Sahityaratna”, Puranetihas-acharya-M.A. and Vallabh-vedantacharya. He has also secured a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from Agra University for his research work on deep and intricate subject of “Shri Krishna in Vaishnav Sampradaya”, which has added great honor to the world of religious education.

From a very young age, he is having an extra ordinary capacity of disclosing obscure secrets and enigmatical meanings of Shrimad Bhagwat. It is a matter of great pride that at the tender age of 12 only, after listening to his highly attractive and poetic recitation of Shrimad Bhagwat, he was awarded the title of ‘Bal Vyas’ by the Most Respected Swami Akhandanandjee Saraswati Maharaj, at the auditorium of Anand Vrindavan Ashram in Vrindavan. Since then, Dr. Shastri has continuously been delivering his religious speech on Shrimad Bhagwat and Ramayana besides other subjects of Indian religion, philosophy and culture in different cities of India.

At the young age of 21, he has set a record by securing the highest seat of the Chief Speaker at the week long Ahstottarshat (108) Shrimad Bhagwat Gyanyagya organized at Shri Govardhan Dham of Brij and very successfully discharged his pious duty as a religious teacher during the event.

Dr. Shastri was recognized as the “best young member” by the Giants International in December 1986 by awarding him the title at their international convention On exclusive invitation from foreign missionaries, Dr. Shastri has travelled far and wide in different countries of the world, for the spread of Indian religion, philosophy and culture. By his unique style of elucidation and extra ordinary interpretation of great Indian religious epics, he has received many citations and honors besides a number of medals, especially in far away places like Canada, US, Bangkok (Thailand) and United Kingdom.

Dr. Shastri is the first religious teacher of the country to deliver his speech on Shrimad Bhagwat among the people of Andman & Nicobar Islands, where it was organized for the first time since the Independence of the country.

In August 2000, Dr. Shastri has also interacted at length with the Tibetan’s supreme religious leader “Dharmguru”, revered Dalai Lama, on Hindu religious issues, at the city of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.

In June 2001, Dr. Shastri was honored and awarded with a citation by Mr. Bret Schundler, Mayor of the city of New Jersey in USA.

In September 2003, he was also awarded the City Pin of Milpitas along with a letter of citation in the City Hall by Mr. Jose S. Esteves, the Hon. Mayor of Milpitas City in USA.

Srimad Bhagwat Shod Sansthan, Vrindavan (the college where students are given free education on Shrimad Bhagwat with free accommodation) received the first prize from the Sanskrit Academy of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, due to his skillful and proficient contribution in the management of the college. Not only this, he is in regular and active contact with various religious and national institutions like Sri Srinathji Sewa Sansthan, Indian Red Cross Society, Kalyanam Karoti, Akhil Bharatiya Gauvansh Sangrakshak Samiti, Vrindavan Baal Vikas Manch, Internatinal Goodwill Society of India etc.

Due to all above specialties, it could be surmised without any grain of doubt that he has committed his entire life for the welfare and prosperity of the people of India and is determined to spread the teachings of Indian religion, philosophy, culture and the most revered “Shrimad Bhagwat” not only in India but all over the world.
